Nate Nelson, CMT
While training in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu I found a respect and
understanding for massage. This martial art teaches the importance of
maintaining ones body while training. I wanted to learn more about massage and
health, so I entered into massage school at the National Holistic Institute in
2006 for the one year, 1200 hour, program. My studies focused mostly in western
massage modalities and I wanted to have my practice reflect that passion. To
further my understanding of anatomy, pain and techniques I entered into an
externship with a local chiropractor. The past three years I have continued my
studies by working along side and collaborating with DCs.
I use Myofasial Therapies, Neuromuscluar Re-education, Swedish
Massage and Esalen techniques which help the client reach a deeper level of
relaxation resulting in easier muscle release and better holding of
chiropractic adjustments. Your massage will be highly customized by your input,
recommendations by Dr. M and my own expertise.
My goals as a therapist are to help clients relieve pain and to
be a pivotal point in their journey to a life with less pain and deeper
relaxation.
When I am not practicing massage I am studying martial arts, going to Giants games, hiking near by trails or at home in Alameda with my two Boston Terriers.
